Caterpillar Safety Services Expands Training Capabilities

Alliance formed with Convergence™ Training

Caterpillar Inc. has formed an alliance with Convergence™ Training, a division of Capstone Technology Corporation, to use the company’s 3D interactive safety videos, which cover essential environmental, health and safety topics as well as Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations. In addition to the safety training videos, the alliance will leverage software that assists employers in teaching new processes, products, safety, job requirements and certifications. The web-based training application can be customized and is scalable to meet specific training needs. In addition to the online offerings, Caterpillar Safety Services and Convergence Training will offer safety training kits, through a user-friendly online shopping cart available on safety.cat.com under the “shop” tab or by going directly to shopcatsafety.com.

As previously announced, the decision to align with Convergence further strengthens the environmental, health and safety product offering gained through the acquisition of CoreMedia in February. The CoreMedia acquisition built on the heavy equipment focused foundation of SAFETY.CAT.COM™ by expanding the safety culture solutions offered to include leadership, assessment, training, coaching and communications support with the goal of developing sustainable safety performance.

The advanced solutions Convergence Training offers along with CoreMedia’s services, knowledge and expertise puts Caterpillar Safety Services in a position to provide added value to customers working in a broad range of industries.
